Gtech Holdings Corp., an operator of lottery games and systems, raised
its fiscal 2003 profit forecast because of increased service
revenue.
Gtech expects earnings of $2.30 to $2.35 a share in the year
ending Feb. 22, the company said in a press release distributed by
PR Newswire. Gtech previously forecast profit of $2.10 to $2.20 a
share. The average estimate of four analysts surveyed by Thomson
First Call is for $2.19.

Service revenue for the year is expected to increase by 2
percent to 3 percent, and product sales are forecast to be $100
million to $110 million, Gtech said. The West Greenwich, Rhode
Island-based company provides software and network equipment,
maintenance and consulting for online-lottery products.
Gtech said 2004 earnings will be $2.50 to $2.60 a share. The
average estimate of four analysts surveyed by First Call is $2.37.
Shares of Gtech rose 24 cents to $24.74 in New York Stock
Exchange composite trading. The shares have risen 9.3 percent this
year.
