GTECH signs five-year contract extension with Kentucky Lottery Corporation

GTECH has announced that it has signed a five-year contract extension to provide online lottery products and services to the Kentucky Lottery Corporation. The extension agreement, which is expected to commence on June 28, 2003, and continue through June 27, 2008, is subject to the approval of the Government Contract Review Committee, as provided for by Kentucky law.

“GTECH has enjoyed a successful partnership with the Kentucky Lottery for over a decade,” said Howard S. Cohen, CEO and president of GTECH. “We are extremely pleased to receive this vote of confidence from a valued and long-standing customer and look forward to continuing this rewarding relationship as we work with the Lottery to maximize funds for good causes.”

Under the terms of the contract extension, GTECH will install and maintain 175 GVT Extra terminals. The GVT Extra offers basic online lottery capabilities to retailers that may not otherwise qualify to sell online tickets due to lower sales volumes.
