GTECH to provide software for U.K. lottery

WEST GREENWICH – GTECH has announced it has signed an agreement with Camelot Group plc to develop and license to Camelot new software applications that will allow online, interactive offerings of lottery games directly over the Internet for players in the United Kingdom. Camelot is the lottery operator for the National Lottery in the United Kingdom under license, which commenced on January 27, 2002.

Under the terms of the agreement, GTECH will provide Camelot with an interactive channel architecture and baseline transaction engine, powered by the company’s latest lottery-management system offering, GTECH Enterprise Series enabling Camelot to sell instant and online lottery games over the Internet to players in the United Kingdom. This solution will be integrated into Camelot’s AlphaGOLS system, previously supplied by GTECH.
