GTECH to supply upgrade to existing video lottery central system for the province of Saskatchewan

GTECH announced yesterday that the Western Canada Lottery Corporation (WCLC) has selected the West Greenwich-based company to negotiate a contract to supply the Province of Saskatchewan with an upgrade to the existing video lottery central system.

“This news, coupled with the recent announcement concerning GTECH’s video lottery central system contract win in Rhode Island, is a direct reflection of the quality of our technology and of our ongoing commitment to providing superior services to our customers,” said GTECH CEO and President Howard S. Cohen.

The Company anticipates signing a contract with WCLC in early March 2002. The upgrade of the video lottery central system will generate revenues for GTECH of approximately $4 million.

In addition to Saskatchewan, the company currently supplies video lottery central computer systems and/or terminals to lotteries in Rhode Island, Oregon, Switzerland, and the Canadian Province of Alberta.
