Will Mueller
Will Mueller has joined American Broadband as construction manager. He will be responsible for directing network construction activities in the twenty municipalities served by American Broadband. He has been assembling construction teams and directing major projects for cable companies throughout New England and New York for more than a decade. Mueller previously worked as an aerial construction subcontractor, putting up lines for Times Mirror Cable in Providence, North Providence, and Pawtucket as well as Rollins Cable in Cumberland, Lincoln and Woonsocket. He was also employed at Continental Cable as outside plant engineer, working on a number of fiber optic projects throughout eastern Massachusetts.
Ian Palmer
Ian Palmer has been promoted to vice president, satellite sales at KVH Industries, Inc. of Middletown. The position is a new one, and his responsibilities will include overseeing KVH’s satellite communications sales group as well as corporate-wide customer service. He joined the company in 1993 as marine sales coordinator and was promoted to reseller sales manager in 1997 and director of satellite sales in 1998.

Thomas H. McGovern
Thomas H. McGovern has been appointed president and CEO at Lightband Communications, Inc. He will be responsible for establishing the strategic direction and market vision for Lightband, focusing on expanding domestic and international business, building the company’s corporate presence and opening new markets and channels for Lightband’s internet services. McGovern was formerly employed as eastern region sales vice president at Verilink Corporation, vice president strategic sales at TxPort, Inc., before it was acquired by Verilink, and as president and CEO of Phoenix Data Communications Corporation before it was acquired by TxPort. He also served as an international territory manager for the Codex division of Motorola Corporation. He holds a master’s degree in finance from the Wharton School and a bachelor’s in mathematics from Boston College.
Mariusz Stachera
Mariusz Stachera has been appointed information technology manager at Benefit Connections.com, a division of The New England Benefit Companies, Inc. (NEBCO). He will be responsible for the MIS department, and will manage information systems, programming and network set-ups for both NEBCO and BenefitConnections.com. Stachera has been employed at NEBCO since 1998 and is a graduate of the University of Rhode Island with a degree in computer engineering.
Unicom announces manager appointments
Kevin Mulcahey has joined Unicom, Inc. of Providence as project manager. He was formerly employed as technical services manager at Integrated Partners and project manager at Aquidneck Management. Mulcahey is a retired commander in the U.S. Navy where he was on staff at the Naval War College as well as director of Corporate Systems in the Bureau of Naval Personnel in Washington, D.C. He holds a master degree in management information systems.
Peter Rocha has been promoted to manager of inside sales and operations at Unicom. He will oversee a team responsible for maintaining important customer and vendor relationships. He has been employed at Unicom since August 1992. Rocha has a degree in management information systems and accounting from Central State University in Ohio. He resides in Providence with his wife and three children.
