Capital Properties Inc. has begun a $2.1 million renovation of a onetime industrial building built in phases in the 19th century at the corner of Steeple and Canal streets in Providence. The renovation includes a restoration and repointing of the building’s brick façade and reframing and recreating some of the windows. The building, pictured above in an artist’s rendering, will also be made handicapped accessible. Now home to two restaurants, the building will have about 15,000 square feet of rentable space. /
