The fifth Internet Business Model Forum, “Information Design is the Key to Success,” will be held at the Rhode Island Convention Center on November 14. The workshop is being presented as part of the seminar track at the Information Technology Exposition and Conference (itechEXPO) which is November 14 and 15.
The two-hour session will be lead by Eric Holter, president of Newfangled Graphics, a Web design firm in Providence.
“There is a need in the business community for understanding the difference between graphic design and information design,” he said.
Holter said the workshop will be most useful for businesses with Intranets, Extranets or large Web sites and will cover the principles and processes of information design.
Whenever he lectures, Holter said he leaves plenty of time for questions and answers.
“People always have questions about hosting, technologies they should use or not use,” he said. “A lot of people are confused about search engines.”
Holter said there are always lots of questions from businesspeople eager to enhance their company’s capabilities.
“I get a lot of questions about Web advertising,” he said. “It’s only been the past five years that the Internet has come to the attention of the business community.”
The workshop is sponsored by accounting firm KPMG, Epicor Software and the Emerald Group.
The Internet Business Model Forum is presented by Providence Business News and Newfangled Graphics.
