John Aitken, of Nutmeg Securities LTD. in Providence, has been presented with the Children’s Friend 2004 Michelle Norris Memorial Award. The award is presented to an individual or organization that has provided extraordinary support and assistance toward the agency’s mission of improving the futures of Rhode Island’s most vulnerable children. Aitken has been an active member of Children’s Friend’s board of directors for nearly 40 years. He has been instrumental in helping raise $3.5 million for centers in South Providence and Central Falls. Aitken lives in Warwick.
