TAUNTON, MASS. — Kopin Corporation, a developer and manufacturer of advanced semiconductor materials and miniature flat panel displays, yesterday posted a fourth quarter loss and said it would post a first quarter loss, too.
The company reported a fourth quarter loss of almost $4 million, or 6 cents per share, compared to a profit of nearly $777,000, or 1 cent per share, during the same period a year ago. The fourth quarter loss was due to restructuring costs, and the anticipated first quarter loss of 9 to 12 cents per share is due in part to a softer consumer electronic market, the company said.
