PROVDENCE – Lin Media, owner of WPRI-TV CBS 12, announced that it has created a new management position to manage its information technology strategies.
Brett Jenkins, most recently the vice president of technology for Ion Media Networks, will fill the position of vice president chief technology officer, advising the company on new technologies, trends and best practices for integration. He will develop new business models across all areas of technology, including broadcast, Internet and mobile.

He will oversee the IT and engineering functions and report to Lin Media President and CEO Vincent L. Sadusky
“Brett’s strong technical knowledge and strategic thinking, along with his demonstrated ability to identify and apply technology to business opportunities, will further position our company for growth and success,” said Sadusky.
Jenkins has more than 20 years of experience in broadcast engineering and IT management, Lin said.
He currently serves on the board of the nonprofit Advanced Television Systems Committee which works to develop voluntary standards for digital television and the external advisory board for the University of Massachusetts’ Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering. He was a member of the FCC’s Communications Security, Reliability and Interoperability Council last year.
