BOSTON — Boston Mayor Thomas M. Menino is calling on NSTAR, the city’s lone power
supplier, to compensate small businesses forced to shut down during recent power
outages caused by rising temperatures. A meeting between the mayor and company
officials is expected to take place in the coming weeks. In the meantime, NSTAR
has agreed to set up centers in three city neighborhoods where customers can pursue
claims against the utility for losses.
