Metech acquired by Delaware firm

Metech International, based in Mapleville, R.I., was acquired by MTI Corp., incorporated in Delaware. Metech will continue to operate under its existing name, providing customers across the country with precious metals recovery and comprehensive electronics recycling services.

The purchase will make additional resources available to Metech to support sustained growth in the rapidly expanding electronics recycling market, the companies said in a press release.

“Metech has the potential to become the leading e-waste recycling, asset management, and precious metals recovery company in the United States,” said Sam Advani, president of MTI Corp. “The Metech management team has demonstrated great leadership, integrity and honesty during the course of their stewardship, and we look forward to working with them as we embark on a bold and ambitious plan for the company.”

Metech will consolidate all precious metals services to its facility in Gilroy, Calif. The company will maintain a strong East Coast presence, and expects to expand its shredding capacity, as well as other capabilities. The changes streamline operations and allow Metech to support its existing customer base more efficiently, while opening the door for further growth.
