Michael Browner has received Rhode Island College’s Young Alumni Award.
A history teacher at Thompson Middle School, he was honored as the 2006 Multicultural Educator of the Year at the school’s Promising Practices Conference.
He initiated a morning tutoring session and a Saturday Boys Club for young men.
Browner earned his master’s degree in school administration and a principal’s certificate in 2004.
