Communications manufacturer KVH Industries, Inc., of Middletown, announced it has received a new order worth approximately $1.9 million from a defense prime contractor for elements of its TACNAV(R) military vehicle navigation system.
KVH said the TACNAV components included within the order will be used to upgrade KVH’s TACNAV navigation systems already in the field, which will allow the navigation system to connect with the U.S. Army’s FBCB2 digital battlefield system. The company expects to recognize all of the revenue from this contract in 2005.

“Our defense navigation business remains a significant strategic area for KVH both through new sales and, in the case of this recent order, ongoing component sales to support expanded operational capabilities and ongoing fielding requirements with our existing customers,” said Dan Conway, vice president of business development for KVH Industries. “TACNAV has consistently proven its ability to support applications in demanding military environments, including vehicle navigation, integration with digital battlefield management systems, and precision stabilization and pointing.”
