Omniwav Mobile announced the release of the MBR-1100, a 10” by 6” device that can be mounted in the trunk of glove compartment of a car and creates a DSL-speed Internet connection accessible via wi-fi or Ethernet. The MBR-1100 connects to the Internet using new mobile phone service.

The service is available in major cities around the U.S., including Providence, Boston and Hartford. The company is making it available to limousine services, corporate fleets, taxis and rental cars.
Personal users can keep the family connected around town or on family trips. Passengers in boats, trains, RV’s, and many other vehicles can use the MBR-1100 to connect to the Internet while in transit, Omniwav said.
