A comfortable job pace is forecast for the Providence area this spring, based on the latest poll of business’ workforce plans, released by staffing service Manpower, Inc.
“Of companies responding to the Second Quarter Employment Outlook Survey, 20 percent will recruit more workers during April, May and June, while 7 percent expect to cut back and 66 percent report no changes are anticipated. Another 7 percent are unsure at this time,” said Manpower spokesperson Sheldon Sollosy.

For the similar period last year, prospects were bright as 27 percent forecast adding staff and 3 percent predicted personnel reductions. Three months ago, the outlook was steady when 21 percent projected more hires, while 14 percent indicated employment levels would decrease.
