The unit will assist officers in identifying and obtaining supporting evidence on vehicles exceeding safe speeds in high-risk locations. This tool has been effective in reducing average speed rates in school, construction, and pedestrian crossing zones.
The contract also allows the City of Cactus to use data from the speed system to issue citations for infractions other than speeding.
“Nestor’s PoliScanSpeed speed enforcement system will provide Cactus with an effective and reliable tool to improve safety,” said NTS CEO William B. Danzell. “This technology, coupled with our customer service, creates a dynamic and responsive system that will complement Cactus’ ongoing traffic safety program. We are very pleased that the city selected Nestor to be part of these efforts.”
