Providence-based Nestor, Inc. announced the retirement of David Fox as president and CEO of Nestor and its wholly owned subsidiary, Nestor Traffic Systems. Nestor has appointed Nigel P. Hebborn as president and CEO of Nestor, Inc. and Douglas L. Reilly, Ph.D., as president and CEO of Nestor Traffic Systems, Inc. Mr. Fox, 66, had held the positions since 1989. Mr. Fox has also retired from Nestor’s board of directors.
Hebborn joined Nestor in 1996 and has served as executive vice president and CFO since 1999. Mr. Hebborn will be responsible for operations of the parent company and will continue to serve as the CFO of both companies. Mr. Hebborn is a CPA who was employed at Price Waterhouse in Buffalo, New York, and has over twenty years executive experience in developing-stage companies.

Dr. Reilly has been with Nestor since its began operations in 1984 and has played a significant role in the development of many of the Company’s products, ranging from tools for character recognition, the Ni1000 neural network chip and PRISM(R) fraud-detection systems, to TrafficVision(R) for highway monitoring, CrossingGuard(R) — Nestor’s video-based automated red light enforcement and intersection safety system — and Rail CrossingGuard, Nestor’s real-time video monitoring system for highway rail intersections.
Before this appointment, Dr. Reilly served as Chief Operating Officer of Nestor Traffic Systems. Both Mr. Hebborn and Dr. Reilly will serve on Nestor’s Board of Directors.
