New solid waste disposal facility under construction

NEW BEDFORD – A new solid waste recycling and transfer facility for New Bedford Waste Services is under construction on Shawmut Avenue, according to the builder, Bufftree Building Company, of this city. The facility will be capable of processing daily 500 tons of construction site material, as well as commercial, industrial and residential waste when it is completed in the spring of this year. Starting in 2003, Massachusetts will require the recycling in an environmentally safe method of all construction debris.
