BEDFORD, Mass. – Nextel Communications Inc. has entered into a co-marketing relationship with Long Island City, N.Y.-based ALEPH Inc., which provides traditional and Internet-based solutions to ground transportation services. Through this relationship, Nextel will now be able to offer wireless dispatch, billing and reservation management data solutions to ground transportation companies, such as limousine and black car service companies, to quickly match customers with available vehicles and drive new revenue.
Historically, ground transportation companies have had few options other than proprietary wireless data systems to manage dispatching. ALEPH will deliver reservation and dispatching information over Nextel’s nationwide packet data network, while also managing orders from dispatch centers and driver units.
