Nextel to host conference call

RESTON, Va. — Nextel Communications, Inc., with offices in Bedford, Mass., will
host its second-quarter 2001 financial results conference call with its senior
management. The conference will take place on Tuesday, July 24, 2001 from 8:30

and (801) 303-7424 (International). All participants are asked to dial in 10-15
minutes prior to the start of the conference call. The conference call will also
be available via a live Web cast on two sites: www.nextel.com and
