Occupy Providence movement planned

PROVIDENCE – Several dozen students gathered at the Brown University campus on Wednesday along with members of the Occupy Providence movement, The Boston Globe reported.
The Occupy Providence movement – modeled after the Wall Street protests which began about one month ago to criticize corporate greed and social inequality – plans to begin a protest later this month, tentatively on Oct. 15 but has not yet picked a site.
Brown freshman Ian Georgianna attended Wednesday’s rally and told The Boston Globe that “the movement shows great potential, but that it must translate its passion into action.”
According to the group’s Facebook page, there is a meeting planned at Burnside Park Thursday at 5 p.m.
