Political chaos takes back seat to Christmas

WALTHAM, Mass.–(ENTERTAINMENT WIRE)– It appears Web users left the jeers of Indecision 2000 briefly this week, in search of holiday cheer, pushing Christmas to number one on the list, bumping Election 2000 to number two. While Christmas took over the top spot, the endearing Dr. Seuss Christmas character The Grinch (#25) arrived on The Lycos 50 with a bang thanks to the new movie version of the timeless classic starring Jim Carey, which took in $55.1 million over the weekend, the highest grossing non-sequel opening in movie history. Santa Claus fell just short of this week’s Lycos 50, however, landing at number 52.
