PURVIS Systems buys ACK software line

ACK Inc. of Barrington has sold its FD Manager Software product line to fellow Rhode Island company PURVIS Systems Inc., of Middletown, and “take it to the next level,” ACK President Henrik Dunlaevy announced Monday.

Created by ACK six years ago, the FD Manager line includes fire department and emergency medical services management applications for municipal use, including electronic National Fire Incident Reporting System software, computer-aided dispatch and wireless dispatch.

Dunlaevy said PURVIS Systems, which has over 30 years’ experience in public-safety system development, was “the perfect company” to develop the FD Manager line. ACK said it will have a long-term relationship with PURVIS to aid in the development, support existing clients, provide training and act as a sales agent for the line.

PURVIS has provided development and maintenance services for the New York City Fire Department since 1978, supporting the emergency reporting system, voice alarm and computer-aided dispatch. PURVIS President Michael LePanto said the ACK deal will allow the company to reach out to “many more municipalities,” and grow accordingly.
