PORTSMOUTH, R.I — Raytheon Company, the Lexington, Mass.-based producer of commercial and defense electronics and business and special mission aircraft, has been awarded an $11.7 million U.S. Navy contract for two AN/SQS-20 high-speed acoustic mine hunting systems. According to Raytheon, the potential value of the contract, when all options are exercised, is $48.2 million.
The contract as awarded by the Naval Surface Warfare Center- Coastal Systems Stations, Dahlgren Division, Panama City, Fla. Work will be performed at the N&MIS facility in Portsmouth, R.I and is expected to be complete by February 2003.
