RDW Group wins 39 awards at 2001 shows

RDW Group, a Providence-based communications firm, has captured 39 awards in two recent regional communications competitions.

The company won 22 awards for public relations at the 52nd Annual Bell Ringer Awards Show sponsored by the Publicity Club of New England, and 17 awards for creative excellence, including “Best in Show” at the 2001 Holland Awards Show sponsored by the Ad Club of Greater Worcester.

At the Bell Ringer Awards 2001 Show, held in Cambridge, RDW Group won 11 first-place “bell ringers” and 11 merit awards. The “bell ringers” were awarded in the categories of:

  • Best Direct Mail Piece and Best Graphic Identity for Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Rhode Island;
  • Best Community Service Campaign for GTECH Corporation;
  • Best Newsletter for Rocha Bros. Supermarkets, Inc.
  • Best Bylined Article for Cooley Group;
  • Best Photo with Captions Placement and Best News Conference for Hoyts Cinema Corporation;
  • Best Radio Placement for New England Coffee Company;
  • Best Speech for both the Massachusetts Medical Society and RDW Group; and
  • Best On-line Multimedia for Standards Mems.

The company’s “Best in Show” win at the Holland Awards show was for the Dinosaur Exhibit billboard depicting a Tyrannosaurus Rex with the headline “First Come. First Served,” executed on behalf of Roger Williams Park Zoo. The agency also captured two first-place awards in the category of Print Advertising for two Rhode Island Flower Show ads and one first-place award in the category of Outdoor Transit for Roger Williams Park Zoo.
