Rhode Islanders start getting medications from Canada

Secretary of State Matt Brown announced Monday over 800 Rhode Islanders have requested enrollment forms to sign up with RIMeds to save on their prescription drugs.

One hundred residents have already enrolled and RIMeds began filling their prescriptions Monday, the first day of operation for the program. Rhode Islanders interested in the program can begin the enrollment process online at www.RIMeds.com or call a dedicated toll-free number 1-866-656-MEDS (6337).
Brown introduced RIMeds in late January to seniors at the Pilgrim Senior Center in Warwick. RIMeds gives Rhode Islanders access to lower-priced prescription drugs through a network of 60 inspected and approved pharmacies in Canada and the United Kingdom at a 35-60 percent savings.
