Rhode Island gasoline prices rose another 3 cents in the past week, marking their sixth consecutive week of gains since the November general election, AAA Southern New England today reported.
In its Dec. 18 weekly survey, the nonprofit auto club found the average self-serve price for unleaded regular was $2.349 per gallon, 3 cents higher than last week and 17 cents higher than six weeks ago. A year ago at this time, the price was $2.209 per gallon.

The range in prices for self-serve regular as 22 cents, from $2.219 to $2.439. Similar ranges were reported for other grades of fuel.
Average self-serve prices for other grades of fuel in today’s survey were: midgrade unleaded, $2.479 per gallon; premium unleaded, $2.589; and diesel, $2.769.
