PROVIDENCE — The Rhode Island Technology Council announced the addition of two prominent business and community leaders to its board of directors. The newly elected members are Richard A. Licht, and Dr. Richard Nadolink.
Licht, a partner at the Providence law firm of Tillinghast Licht Perkins Smith & Cohen, LLP served two terms as Rhode Island’s Lieutenant Governor. He also served as chairman of the Board of Governor’s for Higher Education for Rhode Island and is currently a member of the boards of Roger Williams Medical Center, the Hospital Association of Rhode Island, and the Jewish Federation of Rhode Island. A 1968 graduate of Harvard College, cum laude, Licht received his law degree, cum laude, from Harvard Law School in 1972. He is admitted to practice in both Rhode Island and Massachusetts.

Dr. Richard Nadolink is the Chief Technology Officer and Director of Science and Technology at the Naval Undersea Warfare Center, which has a major division in Newport. He is a world recognized expert in hydrodynamics, and in 1989 he received one of four distinguished chairs in science and engineering. The American Defense Preparedness Association awarded him the David Bushnell Award and the Silver Medal for his pioneering work in undersea warfare. Nadolink received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of Massachusetts in Physics and Civil Engineering respectively. He earned his Ph.D. in engineering physics from the University of California in the Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering Department, and he holds a dozen U.S. patents.
“These individuals are key appointments to our board of directors,” said Rick Kovar, executive director of RItech. “Richard Licht brings a depth of knowledge and information in the education and corporate arenas and Richard Nadolink represents a very important workforce development partnership with the NUWC for RItech.”
