U.S. Sen. Jack Reed was notified by the National Oceanic and Atmosphere Administration that the $348,700 he secured for the city of Warwick for land acquisition at Rocky Point is being released. The funds come from the fiscal year 2002 Commerce Justice State Appropriations Bill which originates in the CJS Appropriations Subcommittee which Reed sits on.
Plans for Rocky Point include restoring the site to include parkland accessible to the general public, improving the area’s water quality and increasing open space.
