Secretary of State Matt Brown visited seniors at the Woonsocket Senior Center on Wednesday to introduce them to RIMeds – a new program that allows Rhode Islanders to purchase safe, FDA-approved prescription drugs from pharmacies in Canada and the UK at a savings of 35-60 percent
“People all across Rhode Island are saving on prescription drugs they need to stay healthy,” said Brown. “RIMeds provides Rhode Islanders with the same opportunities other Americans have to buy safe drugs at lower costs,” said Brown.
RIMeds is a program developed by CanaRx, a prescription benefit manager that currently services Springfield; Fall River; Portland, Maine; and Burlington, Vermont.
Over 100 Rhode Islanders have joined the program since it was launched in January.
