Stanley Works, the largest U.S. maker of hand tools, said fourth quarter profit was 7 cents a share, including restructuring and other expenses of 50 cents a share.
Excluding the expenses, earnings at the maker of Stanley hammers and FatMax tape rules were $50 million, or 57 cents a share, the company said in a statement distributed by PR Newswire. A year earlier, profit was $47 million, or 54 cents. Sales fell 3 percent to $646 million from $666 million.
