Study: New Englanders more generous

National studies have painted a dismal picture of giving in Rhode Island, according to the Rhode Island Foundation. This is not the case according to a new study, A Closer Look at New England Giving.

According to the study, 82 percent of New Englanders give to charity versus versus 67 percent nationally. New Englanders give 38 percent more to secular causes than the national average, the study reported.
