Technical education focus of task force

NEWPORT — At a recent state Department of Education “High School Summit” held in the City by the Sea, Gov. Lincoln Almond highlighted a report produced by his Career and Technical Education Task Force.

The recommendations of the task force focus on the high-level academic standards for every student coupled with preparation for immediate entry into a career path in a promising industry. Students should also be prepared to continue learning on the job, and in post-secondary institutions, according to the task force.
