Providence-based Textron Inc. announced Monday that it has named Gary Cantrell vice president and chief information officer, reporting to Kenneth C. Bohlen, executive vice president.
In addition to serving as an officer of the corporation, Cantrell will direct Textron’s overall technology and information systems, as well as steer the day-to-day operations and activities of the company’s information technology resources. Cantrell also will be responsible for guiding the company’s future technology investments, ensuring alignment with the company’s goals and business strategy.

Cantrell joins Textron from Bank of America where he held several senior-level roles, most recently as senior vice president of enterprise access and technology services, and senior vice president of supply chain management for technology and operations. He also spent 15 years at Honeywell International where he held a variety of management and engineering positions.
