The TJX Companies, Inc. (NYSE: TJX) today reported May 2001 sales figures. Sales for the four week period ended June 2, 2001 were $789 million, up 8% over $732 million achieved during the same four week period ended June 3, 2000. For the seventeen weeks ended June 2, 2001, sales reached $3,110 million, an increase of 8% over last year’s $2,884 million.
Consolidated comparable store sales for the four week period ended June 2, 2001 as well as the seventeen week year-to-date period were flat with last year.
