Thielsch buys Coventry welding company

Cranston-based Thielsch Engineering has purchased the assets of M & M Welding Co. of Coventry.

“This is a good fit for our company that will add to our consulting and engineering services,” said company president Helmut Thielsch. Thielsch works closely with the power, chemical process, pulp and paper, and pharmaceutical industries, among others.

M & M’s equipment and 12 employees will be moved to Thielsch’s headquarters on 195 Frances Ave. in Cranston. The welding operation will become Thielsch’s division of process equipment fabrication.

Thielsch’s president said the deal, which was in the works for four months, will bring the company’s total employees to 300.

M & M has been in business for over 20 years. Thielsch was founded in 1984.
