Thomas M. Ryan, CVS Corporation’s chairman, president and CEO, will receive the American Heart Association’s 2002 Gold Heart Award. The award is presented for philanthropy and civic involvement in the community. Ryan has led efforts to raise funds for the American Heart Association, Rhode Islanders Supporting Education, Community Prep, National Colorectal Cancer Research Alliance and the R.I. Breast Cancer Coalition. A graduate of the University of Rhode Island, Ryan is a resident of Providence.
