Some scheduled trips of the Providence/Newport ferry service will be canceled next week because of extreme tidal ranges on Narragansett Bay, the Rhode Island Public Transit Authority announced Monday.
On Sept. 24, the 10:45 a.m. ferry from Providence and the 12:15 p.m. ferry from Newport are cancelled. From Sept. 26 to 28, the 1:45 p.m. ferry from Providence and the 3:15 ferry from Newport are cancelled.
