WOONSOCKET – NRI Community Services Inc., previously Northern RI Community Mental Health Center, recently merged with Family Resources Community Action another nonprofit, Woonsocket-based multi-service agency.
The new, combined, agency has been named the Community Care Alliance (CCA) and the new president/CEO is Benedict F. Lessing Jr., who had been serving as executive director of FRCA.
The outgoing president/CEO of NRICS is Christian L. Stephens, who served in the role for 32 years. Among the services that Stephens worked most energetically to expand were child, adolescent, and family services.
