Westerly-based The Washington Trust Company announced Tuesday that it has been awarded a three-year ATM contract with the state of Rhode Island. The agreement allows Washington Trust to place ATMs in all Rhode Island state buildings, including the Registry of Motor Vehicles, as well as state colleges, universities and administrative offices. The agreement also allows any Rhode Island municipality to place Washington Trust ATMs in their public buildings and schools.

In August 2004, Washington Trust announced that the bank had reached an agreement to install ATMs in all 48 Brooks Pharmacy stores located throughout Rhode Island and in several stores in southeastern Massachusetts and Connecticut.
