NEWPORT, R.I. — Kidrecords.com, a new Web site that makes children’s medical histories available to authorized doctors and caregivers, made its debut today.
The site, which is described as “ultra secure,” allows parents to create and register a record of their child’s medical information, enabling Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO)-accredited hospitals and caregivers to obtain that information via the Internet. The online record would allow quick access to a child’s medical information during an emergency, when parents may be unavailable to provide it.

The site is run by Newport-based online-registries.com, a group of secure online medical information sites.
According to kidrecords.com, the site has a firm privacy policy: it will not sell, share or rent any information to others for any purpose. Member information will be available only to the member, and registered, accredited health care facilities, and caregivers designated by members.
