Whaling City welcomes $9.6 million in growth

NEW BEDFORD — Key approvals from Mayor Frederick M. Kalisz, Jr., New Bedford’s
Tax Increment Financing Board, and the city council have been obtained for three
new tax increment financing agreements representing $9.6 million investment in
business growth in New Bedford. A seven-year agreement has been reached with the
Acushnet Company reflecting a $4 million investment in the Titleist Plant — an
investment projected to create 28 jobs. Agreements were also reached with Fernandes
Masonry and New Bedford Waste Services.
