Whitehouse seeks ban of latex gloves in food industry

PROVIDENCE — Attorney General Sheldon Whitehouse has submitted legislation that
would ban the use of latex gloves in the Rhode Island food industry. Whitehouse,
who also wants postings where latex gloves are used in non-food business environments,
said that the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health issued an
alert on the potential that latex gloves were the leading cause of latex allergy.
