Bernard J. “Bernie” Beaudreau, executive director of the Rhode Island Community Food Bank, has been chosen to receive a University of Rhode Island Distinguished Achievement Award. Since he joined the Food Bank in 1995, its annual food distributions have tripled, to 8.3 million pounds. Beaudreau is a 1977 graduate of URI, where he also earned a master’s degree in community planning.
