Caroline A. Cooper
Caroline A. Cooper, dean of the Hospitality College at Johnson & Wales University, has been presented the Howard B. Meek Award for Lifetime Achievement in Hospitality Education by the International Council on Hotel, Restaurant and Institutional Education (CHRIE). She was presented the award during CHRIE’s annual international conference in New Orleans. Cooper has served as a delegate to the White House Conference on Travel and Tourism and also serves on the board of trustees and the executive committee for the Educational Institute of the American Hotel & Motel Association, as vice chair of the Rhode Island Tourism Advisory Committee and is a member of the board of the American Express Foundation’s National Academy for Tourism.

Michael A. Kelly
Michael A. Kelly has been presented the highest award from the Lehigh University Alumni Association. The presentation was made during the school’s graduation ceremonies in recognition of Kelly’s 25 years of service to the Bethlehem, Pennsylvania University. Kelly, general counsel to Cumberland Farms, Inc./Gulf Oil, is a past president of the Lehigh Club of Rhode Island and a former regional vice president of the association’s board of directors. He is a past chairman of the Rhode Island Judicial Nominating Commission and a former senior partner at Adler Pollock & Sheehan P.C., where he concentrated in real estate construction and environmental litigation. He serves as a trustee of the Boys Club of Cumberland, where he resides with his wife Patrice and their two children.

Bruce L. Davey
Bruce L. Davey, PE has been appointed to the State Building Codes Standard Committee by Governor Lincoln Almond. He is the president of Davey Associates, Inc., a consulting engineering firm located in East Greenwich that provides structural engineering services to architects, owners, and developers with renovations and new building construction of all types. Davey, a resident of Warwick, is also the president of the Structural Engineers Association of Rhode Island.

Melissa Medbury
Melissa Medbury has been promoted to team leader in the defined contribution department for the Angell Pension Group, Inc. in Rumford. She will be responsible for day-to-day operations of this department. Medbury, who joined the Angell Group in 1993, is a graduate of the University of Rhode Island with a Bachelor of Science in applied mathematics. She is a resident of Narr-agansett.

Dr. Michael Martin
Michael Martin, DO has joined the medical staff of Kent Hospital and will provide adult primary care services at Kent Primary Care Associates of Crans-ton. The medical office will house his practice and a laboratory drawing station. Martin is a graduate of the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed his internship and residency, as well as serving as chief resident, at St. Vincent Hospital in Worcester, Mass.
Dr. Jacques Bonnet-Eymard
Jacques L. Bonnet-Eymard, MD has joined the Landmark Medical Center. He is an orthopedic surgeon who has been in practice locally for more than 20 years. A graduate of Grenoble University School of Medicine in France, Bonnet-Eymard completed a residency in general surgery at Peter Bent Brigham Hospital in Massachusetts and orthopedic surgery at Yale-New Haven Hospital in Connecticut. He is a member of the Rhode Island Medical Society, Rhode Island Orthopedic Society and the Woonsocket District Medical Society.

Margaret C. Monroe
Margaret C. Monroe Ph. D. has been named senior assistant vice president for the corporate communications division of Amica Mutual Insurance in Lincoln. She began working for Amica in 1981 as an audiovisual producer and was named assistant vice president in 1997. Munroe earned her doctorate in education from Boston University in 1986 and was awarded the James R. Mund Lifetime Achievement Award by the Communications Media Management Association in 1999. She resides in West Kingston.

Heidi Heifetz
Heidi Heifetz has been promoted to fashion and design director for Intercraft/Burnes, the photo storage division of Newell Rubbermaid. She will be responsible for setting the design direction for Burnes of Boston’s four brands of photo frames and albums as well as the division’s two mass-market product lines. In addition, she will supervise Burnes of Boston and Holson’s in-house design teams, as well as design studios in the Far East. She has previously held senior level design positions with Trifari, 1928 Jewel Company and Riviera as well as heading her own design firm, developing products and designs for leading moderate and high-end fashion accessory firms. Heifetz is a graduate of the State University of New York and resides in Providence’s East Side.
Sanford K. Lauderback
Sanford K. Lauderback, Ph.D. has been named vice president, chief technical officer of research and development for Cooley Group in Pawtucket. He will be responsible for overseeing the research and development within Cooley’s three divisions. Lauderback was formerly employed as director of technology, research and development with Felix Schoeller Technical Papers in Pulaski, N.Y. and vice president of corporate research for Huls America, Inc., now Degussa-Huls in New Jersey. He earned his Ph.D. in physical organic chemistry from Wayne State University in Michigan and his bachelor’s in chemistry and German from Otterbein College in Westerville, Ohio.

Caroline Wentworth
Caroline Wentworth has been appointed director of community relations for Village Retirement Communities. Her responsibilities will include establishing and maintaining positive working relations with professionals and other community members as well as familiarizing the community with all of the lifestyle options that are available for older adults. Wentworth previously served as real estate manager for a gated community that caters to adults 55 and older in Florida. She is a resident of Johnston.
