PROVIDENCE – A Celebration of the City, Neighborhoods and Families, on Saturday, Jan. 6, will be the final event in this week’s inaugural festivities in Providence.
The festivities begin today (Wednesday, Jan. 3), with an invitation-only breakfast, followed at 11 a.m. by the swearing-in of Mayor David N. Cicilline for his second four-year term, on the front steps of City Hall, and the simultaneous swearing in of the City Council, in the Council Chambers.

They continue Friday, Jan. 5, with an inaugural celebration for invited guests at the Providence Biltmore Hotel. Proceeds are to benefit Providence after-school programs and the Volunteers in Public Schools (VIPS).
The Celebration of the City will feature free admission this Saturday, at the following attractions, for all Providence residents:
• Bank of America City Center, Two Kennedy Plaza, free skating for city residents from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.
• Providence Children’s Museum, 100 South St., free admission for city residents from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
• Roger Williams Park Zoo, 1000 Elmwood Ave., rree admission for city residents from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
• RISD Museum, 224 Benefit St., free admission for city residents from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
