Constance A. Howes

Constance A. Howes of Providence has been appointed president and chief executive officer of Women & Infants Hospital of Rhode Island, effective October 2, 2002. Howes will be the first woman to serve as president of Women & Infants. Most recently, Howes served as executive vice president and chief operating officer of Women & Infants. Howes is chairperson of the American Hospital Association Maternal Child Health Governing Council, president of the Sexual Assault & Trauma Resource Center of Rhode Island. And also is vice chairperson of the National Conference for Community and Justice, a member of the Board of Directors of the Chamber Foundation, and a member of the Board of Directors of the Textron Chamber of Commerce Academy. She is active with CWISH, the Council of Women and Infants Specialty Hospitals. Howes graduated magna cum laude from Kenyon College and received her JD from the University of Virginia School of Law.
