Electric Boat awarded $13.2 million contract

GROTON, CONN. — General Dynamics Electric Boat has been awarded a $13.2 million contract modification to provide design, engineering and technical support services for U. S. Navy nuclear submarines, the company said. Under the contract, Electric Boat will provide planning yard services for Trident submarines and NR-1, the Navy’s nuclear-powered research submarine.
The company will also perform work supporting design and configuration changes for Trident and Seawolf submarines, and facilities at the Navy’s Kings Bay, Ga., submarine base.

Eighty-nine percent of the work will be performed at Groton; 6 percent at Kings Bay and 5 percent at Quonset Point, RI, the company said.
