EXETER – With a growth strategy that one company official has described as being both “aggressive and organic,” Carousel Industries completed the acquisition of Canton, Mass.-based TriNET Systems Inc. on Friday, Aug. 6. Company officials declined to discuss the financial terms of the acquisition.
TriNET locations and employees will now operate under the name of Carousel Industries, but will continue to provide communications services to existing customers.

“Everyone at TriNET Systems is extremely pleased to be joining Carousel Industries,” said Ken Archer, TriNET Systems CEO. “There is a great deal of synergy between the two companies, and this acquisition is going to allow us to offer a much broader set of capabilities to our customers.”
According to Carousel Vice President of Sales James Marsh, Carousel will maintain TriNET’s current locations and staff, although some offices may be condensed or expanded in the future.
“The combination of Carousel and TriNET will enhance our abilities, give us added scale, resources and expertise to deliver our entire portfolio to our mutual customers,” said Carousel Industries CEO Jeff Gardner. “This acquisition represents a stronger presence of highly trained and dedicated sales staff and engineers to support our customers’ needs.”
The acquisition signified an estimated 20 percent increase in employees for Carousel, bringing the total to roughly 750 employees in more than 30 offices in North America. In Rhode Island alone, Carousel employs about 150 people.
This is the second consecutive year that Carousel has made an acquisition. In April 2009, the company bought San Diego-based Daycom Systems, also a telecommunications-services firm. Carousel was ranked sixth in the list of fastest-growing technology companies in the Providence Business News 2010 Book of Lists.
